Debit Cards at Wascana

September 30, 2008

Comment: Debit cards could be used!

We have explored using debit cards in the past and concluded that we do not have enough transactions to warrant a debit card system. Using a debit card machine demands considerable cost and staff time to implement, however, it has been awhile since we have looked into this and it might be time to re-visit this option if enough library clients would like to see it.

Food and Drinks at Palliser

September 15, 2008

Comment: Allow food & drink.

The library does allow food & drink in the library. When you’re using the computers, make sure drinks have lids and avoid eating chips or sticky food that will make a mess of the keyboard. When eating in the study carrels or at a table, please leave the area clean.

24/7 Library Services

September 15, 2008

Comment: Can we have the library open 24X7?

The library is open 24 X 7 through mySIAST. Students and staff have access to the many services of SIAST Libraries like our e-books,  e-journals and magazines, resource renewals and much more. Please inquire at our ASK US Desk.

As for physical space of the Library in the Woodland Technical Centre it is not feasible to accommodate a 24X7 Library. We feel that the library is accessible seven days a week and that the hours of service adequately serve student and staff needs.
